I was approached by Nicholson University promising an online Masters Degree Program with a caption " Pay after you graduate".

After login the details, i received a call from them and said they could qualify me for the Degree based on my past experience and professional credential. They also said they do Embassy attestation and US legalization.

After going through their website , it was so impressive, as per the call , i paid them $ 499 for the Masters Degree in Project Management and $ 400 for the attestation works.

After going through many articles on fake universities, now I am afraid whether Nicholson University is also a fake one.

Sir you kindly go through the website and advice if this is a fake one or a Diploma MILL.

Thanks for your question!

As a general rule of thumb, you should use extreme caution with any school offering a "pay later" or "pay now" scheme.

Real, accredited schools will generally make you pay as you go including a tuition deposit. Also, caution should be used when a school offers you a full degree based on past experience.

SEE: 10 Signs of a Diploma Mill Scam

Some schools offer real life experience credit but they still require completing some higher level courses there.

SEE: How to Earn Real Life and Work Experience Credit

Nicholson University claims accreditation from a number of organizations including:

AAOET (Accreditation Association for Online Education and Training)
AAC (Arab Accreditation Council), GABDE (Global Accreditation Board For Distance Education)
IABETE (International Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology Education)
AABSP (Association for Accreditation of Business Schools and Programs)

These agencies are NOT recognized in the USA to award degrees either online or through a campus.

For an online college or university in the USA to be considered "legitimate" it needs to be accredited by an agency that is recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation, CHEA.

Consult this list of unrecognized online college accreditation mills when vetting potential schools. We would not recommend attending any online college in the USA that lacks recognized accreditation.

I'd suggest asking for your money back then consulting our Best Buy Online College Rankings to find a fully accredited, affordable online school.

Take care,

For a degree to be "real" it MUST hold accreditation that is recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Education or CHEA.

Nicholson University holds "accreditation" that is NOT recognized.

The same story, someone called me and offered an online course based on my professional experience provided I pay the US$500 first as initial fee but I refused to pay the additional US$500 attestation fee unless they send me the documents first.

I told him that I was having difficulty in getting my credit card approved and the student counselor offered to do it himself and I started getting suspicious because he wants to get hold of vital information with regards to my credit card.

I checked on the accreditations and neither of them are in those listed as fake accreditations but as you have mentioned they are not accredited in the U.S.A. just now after I paid the initial deposit.

I'm sorry to hear that!

Diploma mills are constantly creating new fake "accrediting" bodies so it is impossible to have an exhaustive list of all fake accreditation agencies.

The ONLY way to make sure you are not falling into a diploma mill scam is to verify that the school's accreditation is REAL with the U.S. Dept. of Education or CHEA.

Best, Kayleigh

Dear All,

I knew very well about this NICHOLSON University and some other universities who has been doing (in fact cheating) the people. Here is no doubt about tge NICHOLSON university as it's 100% fake university they are Physically locating at ASHBOURNE but they use to lie as locating in California (corporate office).

Middle east embassies called in Washington DC as group of embassies, They never attest any online or experience based degrees, however each universities have their own vendors who dealing with embassies and obtaining attestation on the certificates,

First Set of Documents: These universities printing all their documents in DUBAI from there routed to concerned person either thru ARAMEX or DHL,

Second Set of documents: They are obtaining attestation from US department of state and Notary public in district of Columbia thereafter sending to concerned person only thru DHL,

Thirst set of Documents: Embassies attestation, no one can get it done, when you going to follow up third and final set of documents, they will create new stories to scary you to get rid. They won't do it embassy attestation.

All to gather their total cost including the courier charges is almost $30-

Their accredited bodies are fake, on the site of gulf bureau of higher education and arab accreditation council, etc., 75% of universities are fake who has been doing such business since long.

Go to U.S. Dept. of Education or CHEA. sites find accredited online universities for better education.

Don't trust this people now and ever.

Best, RASAM.
