Valley College, established in 1987, is a career training institute with campus locations in Beckley, Martinsburg and Princeton, West Virginia. Valley College offers career training programs in the areas of professional office administration, medical office administration, business administration and medical clinical assisting. Valley offers both morning and evening schedules to assist students that need to work their career training around their family and professional responsibilities. Valley College fully supports its students and will work with them to help them pursue their professional and academic goals. Valley offers accelerated career programs which enable most students to be career-ready in as little as 8-10 months.
Valley’s business administration program is the school's only program that is offered online. Students desiring to participate in the online program can do so 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any location that has computer access. Students completing the business administration program will receive an associate of applied science degree in business administration. This degree will prepare students for a professional career such as becoming an office manager, loan officer, administrative assistant, credit counselor, insurance sales agent as well as many other exciting career opportunities.
Students participating in Valley’s medical office administration program will receive an office technology certificate upon successful completion of the medical administrative specialty program. This program provides students with professional support and skills need to obtain a career in the medical office field. This program can be completed in 8 months and graduates of the program can become nationally certified by taking the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant and Certified Billing & Coding Specialist Exams. Careers available to medical office administrators include medical secretary, medical billing clerk, medical records clerk and medical transcriptionist.
Students desiring to become skilled office administration professionals can enroll in Valle’s professional office administration program, which provides hands on and technical computer training and equips students with experience and practical knowledge needed to succeed in professions that include bookkeeper, payroll clerk, accounting clerk and data entry clerk. This program is only offered at the Martinsburg campus, and can be completed in eight months.
Valley College’s medical assisting program is offered to students that are interested in becoming skilled medical assistant professionals that perform both clinical and administrative office duties. Students in this program receive hands on clinical experience and training as well as professional support, and begin their rewarding careers quickly, since it takes only ten months to complete the medical clinical assisting program. Students can take the certified clinical medical assistant exam to further their credentials. Careers in this field include laboratory technician, sterile processing technician, pharmacy aid, clinical assistant, medical office assistant and many more.
