Daytona opened its doors in 1996 as the Daytona Institute of Massage Therapy as a school dedicated to train students to be the very best at exactly that: massage therapy. About ten years after its inception the private college expanded its programming with the addition of the Aesthetic Skin Care, Cosmetology, Allied Health and Business programs. Other degrees in this school can be obtained in the Cosmetology, Therapeutic Massage, Aesthetics Skin Care, Nail Specialist and Full Specialist with Spa Services—getting students prepped for real world experience and into the real world in about a year.
Associate degrees are also offered in business administration and health information technology, medical assisting and medical billing and coding, in the business administration and allied health programs. Daytona also has strong selection of degree programs that stem from these areas. Those looking to hands-on experience and into their designated profession can obtain a degree in Medical Assisting and X-ray and Medical Billing and Coding, as well as certification as a nursing assistant and a home health aide. Students can receive a good number of these degrees and certificates from a distance as well, through Daytona’s online programs. The online programs also host many of Daytona’s continuing education classes—those available to community members, professionals or other individuals interested in enhancing their knowledge in certain subject matter. Examples include accounting and finance, teaching and education and writing and publishing.
