Program Details

The online Associate of Science in Medical Assisting provides the knowledge and skills needed to perform the role of Medical Assistant in multiple settings such as private doctors’ offices, clinics, group practices, and hospitals.  The curriculum consists of both clinical and administrative training as students receive instruction on recording vital signs, medication administration, scheduling, record management, and billing for insurance carriers.

Requirements

As the capstone course of the program, students gain experience in a physician’s office or appropriate facility by participating in an externship.

  • Online orientation & assessment with a qualifying score of 80%
