Program Details
Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities with an associate’s in Human Services degree online from Minot State University. This unique program focuses on helping those with intellectual and developmental disabilities lead self-determined and personally satisfying lives. Graduates can go to pursue the bachelor’s degree in Human Services for certification as a Qualified Intellectual Developmental Disabilities Professional.
Students will gain knowledge about effective communication skills and strategies needed to adapt to the range of client communication styles. They will learn about assessment practices and supports available to clients, recognizing the needs of specific individuals. Graduates will be able to understand challenges facing clients, such as human rights, legal, administrative, and financial, and use effective strategies to overcome them.
