Program Details

Worcester Polytechnic Institute offers a Master of Science in Systems Dynamics Degree that is well suited for students who wish to become more competent in the systems dynamics field. Students will gain the skills in order to make effective decisions, implement policy changes, and understand market changes. Graduates of this certification will be fully prepared to work and apply their learned skills in the systems dynamics field. The Master of Science in Systems Dynamics Degree Program consists of 30 total credit hours  and may be completed part-time. Students must take required courses, elective courses, and subject related courses. The two required courses include System Dynamics Foundation and Modeling and Experimental Analysis of Complex Problems. Level A and Level B courses that students may select from include Model Analysis and Evaluation Techniques, Strategic Modeling and Business Dynamics, Latent Structures Unintended Consequences and Public Policy, Strategy Dynamics, Environmental Dynamics, Project Dynamics, and Macroeconomic Dynamics. Students may choose one to three elective courses that vary in subject related topics. These courses are designed to ensure that graduates are well prepared to handle tasks within the systems dynamics career field.

This online learning environment provides flexibility for enrolled students who are employed or have other obligations. Students must be highly disciplined to complete a large amount of coursework. Time management and word processing skills are very important for students who enroll in this degree program. An undergraduate degree from an accredited university is required in order for students to be considered for the program.


Students are eligible for admission to the Master of Science in Systems Dynamics Degree programs in System Dynamics if they have earned an undergraduate degree from an accredited university.
