Widener's online Master of Business Administration in Health Care Management prepares students for careers in the healthcare industry and in health-related industries like insurance and pharmaceuticals. Students will also develop crucial leadership skills as they directly relate to the health care industry.
In addition to the online MBA program curriculum, students in the Health Care Management concentration will complete three Health Care related courses:
- Health Care Policy: Students analyze the finances, ethics, and regulation of today's health care system. The roles of health insurance and government in America's health care supply, demand, and distribution systems are also covered.
- Community Health Management: Examines the elements of effective population-based health care, including interventions, education, habits and behavior. This class examines subjects from epidemiology and demographics to community organizing and social marketing, as well as ethical dilemmas in public health.
- Developing Management Skills: Activities such as role playing, simulations, and case studies, paired with individualized feedback, provide students with valuable training in the people management skills that are pivotal to a successful career in health care leadership.
