Bachelor of Business Administration
The Bachelor of Business Administration Degree program is popular for students who wish to gain a deep understanding of a variety of fundamental business principles. The sequences offered through this program are designed to build a student’s professional development. Students may gain skills in goal setting, leadership, critical thinking, writing, communication, and problem solving. The program curriculum gives participants the opportunity to practice ethics that may be applied while working in their professional careers. Principles of marketing, finance, and business strategies are heavily expressed through the core curriculum. Students will have an opportunity to apply all of their newly learned principles to projects that they will develop through the program. All knowledge and skills that are learned through the program will be directly utilized during their capstone project sequence. Graduates should complete the program with a full understanding of how to prepare a business plan, apply their learned skills, and analyze a company.
All sequences that students must participate in are available through an online format. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and their advisors for mentoring. However, all courses will be completed online. The distance learning format for this program focuses on real-life projects instead of tests and lectures.
Upon completion of this program, students may find employment within small independent businesses or major corporations. Those who graduate with this degree should possess excellent administrative and management skills that are often best utilized in upper-level positions within an organization. While employed, business administrators handle the day-to-day running of a business as long as long term operations. This program aims to equip students with the tools they need to be eligible for these positions and be successful within their careers.

Founded in 1875 as the Salt Lake Collegiate Institute, a preparatory school, Westminster first offered college classes in 1897 as Sheldon Jackson College. In 1902, college trustees adopted the new name, Westminster. Moving to its present location in 1911, Westminster became the first accredited two-year junior college in the intermountain area. In 1935 Westminster modified its curriculum to qualify as a four-year junior college and in 1949 became a four-year liberal arts institution offering baccalaureate degrees in the arts and sciences. Today Westminster exists as a fully independent, privately funded, nondenominational, comprehensive liberal arts institution of higher learning with selected graduate programs, meeting the West's educational needs.
