Program Overview

The online Bachelor of Arts in Sociology degree completion program at Westfield State University allows students to gain skills and knowledge needed in various careers related to sociology. Students complete core courses in the sociology department including those on principles, research methods, and sociological theory.     This is a bachelor completion program. A total of 120 credits are required, including the required 60 major credits of study. Intended for those who have completed an associate's degree through the Mass transfer compact program within one of Massachusetts’s several community colleges. Students who have not completed this program or who have not come from a Massachusetts Community College may still be eligible for the program, though not all courses may be online, and interested applicants must consult with a school advisor prior to enrollment.

    Westfield State University is a coeducational public, four-year institution of higher education, located in the city of Westfield, Massachusetts. The university first opened in 1838, as the first public coeducational institution in United States that provided teacher education. In 2010, the school achieved university status.     The University awards bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and postgraduate certificates.
