Program Details
The Associate of Science in Elementary Education degree allows graduates to work with children from kindergarten through sixth grade. The curriculum includes studies of innovative teaching practices including service learning projects, technology inclusion, and project-based learning.
Future teachers will learn essential skills such as classroom management, literacy, lesson design, and math and science preparation. Hands-on student teaching allows for practice of learned skills. Western’s online Elementary Education degree has specific pathways to allow graduates to transfer into four-year degree programs to pursue teaching licensure.
