Program Details

The online MAEd / Special Education degree program from Western Carolina University, designed for teachers who have an "A" level license in education, consists of a professional core, a special education core, and a concentration in one of the following areas:

  • Behavioral Disorders
  • Gifted Creative & Innovative Education
  • Mild to Moderate Disabilities
  • Severe/Profound Disabilities 

Requirements

This degree program requires 30-33 credits for completion, as well as a one-week field experience on the WCU campus in June.

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • 3.0 average on last half of undergraduate program or 2.85 overall GPA
