School Details

West Virginia Northern Community College, also known as WVNCC or “Northern” was established in 1972. The school’s main campus is located in downtown Wheeling, West Virginia, and branch locations exist in Weirton & New Martinsville, West Virginia. WVNCC offers a comprehensive, two-year degree program to the six counties located in West Virginia’s Northern Panhandle. The mission of WVNCC is to provide higher education that empowers individuals to reach their academic and career goals, leading to a competent workforce that excels in a global economy.

WVNCC offers transfer programs and career-technical education programs. WVNCC’s programs of study are business career studies, computer and technology, criminal justice, culinary arts, degree completion and occupational development, healthcare and human services, and liberal arts. WVNCC has a distance learning program that delivers educational opportunities to students without them having to attend on campus classes. Distance education courses are offered in a synchronous or asynchronous format.
