Program Details

Students interested in pursuing zoo science careers have a deep passion for helping animals, in addition to helping individuals understand and learn more about different species. Students in the West Liberty University Zoo Science program will gain applied hands-on experience in addition to advanced level coursework on zoo animal behavior. West Liberty University collaborates with a non-profit organization called Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) to provide a foundation rounded in core biology and zoo science areas. The curriculum is offered in a Master of Science or Master of Arts format.


  • A completed discipline-specific Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution
  • GPA of at least 2.6
  • An undergraduate science minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Undergraduate degrees should be in Biology, Ecology, Chemistry, or a related field
  • GRE scores
  • Three letters of recommendation
