Religion and Global Society (BA)
Webster University offers a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Global Society which may be earned completely online. Students will gain a deep understanding of history and concepts of religions around the word. Religion has played a large role in shaping history and how the way society exists today. The course curriculum will explore how religion has influenced all aspects of society which include violence, gender, culture, media, and more. Religion has also served as a moral code throughout history and has determined human rights across many cultures. Today’s understanding of science and the environment have also been influenced by a religious focus. The courses in this program will help students explore all of the complex ways that religion relates to global society across vast time periods and cultures.
In order to earn the BA in Religion and Global Studies, students must complete 128 total credit hours of coursework. General education requirements, religious studies coursework, arts and sciences courses, and elective courses are what the curriculum consist of. All courses for this program may be completed online for individuals who wish to learn at home from their computers. Students must be dedicated to meet course deadlines and finish all assignments in order to earn their degree. Course material will further develop participants skills in communication, writing, critical thinking, as well as others. All of these skills may be used while employed in a variety of settings. Students who study religion and global society may work in fields of education or other professional environments where their expert knowledge can be utilized.
