    Weber State University, a public university located on an urban campus in Ogden, Utah, was established in 1889. Weber State was originally founded as the Weber State Academy by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout its history, the school has been known as Weber State Academy, Weber Academy, Weber Normal College, and Weber College.
