Program Overview

Individuals who choose the Bachelor of Science Degree in Technical Sales typically have minds geared towards marketing and sales in all types of environments. A person who works in technical sales will utilize techniques in selling, negotiation, customer service, and communication in order to sell a wide variety of products. In addition to courses that are focused on sales, students will complete elective courses that should provide them with valuable knowledge of business fundamentals. Graduates who work in sales must also have a base knowledge of how a business works in order to best fulfill their part within the process. Upon completion of this program, students may work for small and large companies selling goods and services to other entities that have a need for them. Technical sales reps may work with other professionals, plants, businesses, and institutions. Courses that are offered through this program may equip students with skills in leadership and communication that may enable them to be successful within their careers.

In addition to coursework, students will complete a senior project. Senior projects help graduates look for employment by displaying the skills that they have acquired through the program. All courses that students will complete through this program are available online. General education courses, technical sales core courses, and elective courses may be taken through a distance learning format. Students who take courses through this format may complete their work at any time that is convenient for them. Elective courses that are offered through this program provide a large amount of customization for a student’s curriculum. Participants may choose electives that best suit their individual interests to add to their curriculum. Courses offered through this program are designed to facilitate student’s success while employed in this diverse career field.
