Associate of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences

Program Details

The online Associate of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences program prepares students to fill supervisory positions, utilize up-to-date quality assurance principles to control costs, maintain regulatory compliance, and increase the overall efficiency of the laboratory, as well as perform routine bench work.  The curriculum focuses on each of the major areas of medical laboratory sciences, including Medical Laboratory Practices, Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Blood bank.


  • Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent
  • Overall GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Successful completion of 20 college credits and at least 3 support prerequisite courses in anatomy, chemistry and biological sciences
  • Must be employed by, or have access to, an accredited (JACHO/CAP/COLA/CLIA) laboratory that can provide a multidisciplinary laboratory experience
  • Affiliation Agreement between WSU and the supporting clinical site
