Program Details

The online Certificate in Health Information Coding program teaches students how to provide reliable and valid health information, turn this information into codes, and use the codes for reimbursement.  Coursework prepares students for careers in ambulatory health care facilities, industrial clinics, state and federal health agencies, skilled and intermediate care nursing facilities, the insurance industry, managed care organizations, and hospitals.  Courses may include Foundations of Healthcare, Medical Terminology, Coding Professional Practice, and Healthcare Reimbursement Methodologies.
