Associate’s of Science in Church Ministry
Warner University offers students the opportunity to complete the Associate of Science in Church Ministry entirely online. The online format of the program provides the same quality instruction as Warner’s campus-based ministry courses while also providing flexibility for busy students. The program is intended for students that have been called to ministry but have a desire to strengthen their education within church ministry and the Bible.
To participate in commencement, students must complete a total of 60 credit hours. The 60 credits are divided into 33 general education, 23 church ministry, and four elective credits. Some of the required church ministry courses are Understanding the Old Testament, Discipleship Ministries in the Local Church and Foundation in Christian Theology.
The program’s curriculum should strengthen student’s knowledge and skills within a variety of disciplines. Students will review Christian Spirituality, examine the literary composition of the Bible, and explore worship liturgies. Students will be educated within church ministry topics such as modern church organizations, theological models for worship planning, and the Old Testament.
The program also provides current A.S. in Church Ministry students the opportunity to begin the Bachelor of Science in Transformation Christian Ministry. In order to qualify, students must complete the required prerequisites and have one semester left within the Associate program.
A.S. in Church Ministry students that are enrolled within approved ministry training programs may participate in the PREPARE educational program. The PREPARE program’s courses are substituted for the degree’s required Church Ministry or general elective courses. PREPARE courses have a pass or fail grading system.
