With the Social Policy Analysis and Planning specialization of this PhD in Human and Social Services, students learn the strategies used to shape and implement public policy. Graduates will be well equipped to work with legislators, lobbyists, and other stakeholders to create sustainable social change.
Coursework examines how to impact legislation that governs society. Students will learn about policies related to healthcare, hate crime, and the environment. A dissertation allows students to research and focus on an issue related to shaping social policy. This online Human Services degree program offers two tracks: Track I is designed for students with a master’s degree related to Human Services; Track II is a pathway for students with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an unrelated field.
