Program Details

Walden University offers the Master of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Health Psychology, an online psychology degree.  For this concentration students explore the biological, social, and psychological factors that influence health.  The curriculum provides a broad understanding of psychological theories, principles, and research strategies but the focus is on the knowledge and skills required to prevent illness and promote healthy behaviors.  This concentration allows students to apply credits toward a doctorate in psychology from Walden.  You will learn to improve services to patients and staff in medical centers, including:

  • Health maintenance organizations
  • Rehabilitation centers
  • Pain management centers
  • Public health agencies

In addition, all students pursuing this online master’s in psychology degree will also complete courses in the broader field of psychology.  The courses provide a solid foundation in basic scientific methods and psychological principles, preparing students to have a positive impact on the lives of those in need.  Upon completion you will understand the latest psychological research and theory to solve critical, real-world problems.

This is not a licensure program and does not prepare an individual to become a licensed psychology or counseling professional.
