Program Details

The Master of Science in Human & Social Services features a concentration in Social Policy & Analysis & Planning from Walden University.  This online master’s in human services degree prepares students to act as policy advisors to governments at all levels as well as policy analysts for non-profits and other organizations and consultants on policy implementation and social services delivery.  The goal is to prepare students to work effectively with legislators, lobbyists, and other stakeholders in the public and political arena to create sustainable social change.  Courses teach strategies that are used to shape and implement modern public policy as you study ways to impact the legislation that governs society in everything from hate crimes to the environment to healthcare.  

Students in this online human services degree program also complete courses in the broader field of human and social services, exploring competencies and strategies in the field.  The curriculum develops holistic, interprofessional perspectives that equip students to help individuals, families, and organizations navigate social services in their communities.  You will develop best practices for delivery systems, program planning, and evaluation methods.

The program is not designed to lead to professional licensure.
