Certificate: Mechanical Design

Students will learn to interpret and create industrial drawings by using sketching techniques and AutoCAD Computer- Generated Graphics to create multiview drawings. Students will also learn about proper view position, sketching, orthographic projection, isometric, geometric construction, auxiliary view, section views, dimensioning, tolerancing, threads, and fasteners. The courses in this program are designed to introduce the student to mechanical concepts. They will also include fasteners, springs, piping, manufacturing and machining principles, and drive mechanisms and welding.
