Business analysts develop information technology solutions to meet 21st-century organizational strategic needs. The Business Analyst Certificate program at Wake Technical Community College focuses on time-tested and cutting-edge practices in a small-team and case study approach to best equip students for their changing roles. In today's solutions-driven business environment, analytical thinking, problem solving, and communications skills are key to providing solutions for process improvements, systems development and/or organizational changes.

Within an organization, the business analyst practitioner works as liaison between the client, stakeholders, and the solutions team. Wake Tech's business analytics curriculum provides the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and growth in analytical professions. The accredited program offers a two-year Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree and two certificate programs that aim to prepare students for a career in business intelligence and business analytics. This fundamental program provides a broad and comprehensive understanding of the perspectives, disciplines and skills necessary for success within the business analyst role.

Participants are engaged in learning the key disciplines, methodologies, approaches, standards, techniques, technology, and marketplace trends that affect how business analysis is performed to implement business and software change in today's organization. Participants who complete the program should be able to: gain exposure to key disciplines and skills needed to fulfill the role of a business analyst, utilize key tools that are common practices needed to support the analyst, choose activities that are critical to project success, facilitate the rigorous development of requirements, and apply learning in real-world scenarios.
