Airport Management Associate in Applied Science
Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Airport Management for students interested in entry-level opportunities in administrative positions within airline companies and within airport operations. Students will have the opportunity to learn about management and administration of activities within an airport or airstrip setting. Students will study the aspects of general aviation, air carriers and the total aviation industry in order to gain insight and understanding of the responsibilities involved in general aviation operations, airline management, airport administration, and corporate aviation management.
The program allows students to take part in a curriculum which will increase individuals' understanding of the ongoing operations of airports. A few of the classes include introduction to aviation, flight theory, aviation meteorology, and airline management.
Following graduation, students will have demonstrated the necessary education and professional qualifications for management roles within airlines and airports. Potential qualifications include the ability to demonstrate an understanding of aviation principles relating to the regular operations and management of scheduled flights, to demonstrate an understanding of the airline and commercial aerospace industries, to demonstrate an understanding of tower control and trafficking of arriving and departing aircraft, and to demonstrate an understanding of the organizational structure and business finances involved in operations and management of an airport.
