Valley City State University offers a certificate in Customer Relationship Management that can be completed in 19 credit hours. Customer Relationship Management involves understanding how a company interacts with their customers and finds ways to enhance their personal customer relationship. As a Customer Relationship Management consultant, tasks would involve installing software, customizing and configuring the software, and discovering strategies each particular business can use to implement this software with the best possible outcome.

Almost any major can get involved in the Customer Relationship Management track if they complete the following classes for a total of 19 credit hours: Introduction to Programming in Java, Business Language, Database Theory/Design and Internet Languages. After the completion of those courses, students must take a one semester Customer Relationship Management class and a two-semester long paid internship. This internship must be with a Customer Relationship Management company such as Eagle Creek Software Services.

With the combination of the appropriate classes and a full year of hands on experience, graduates of this program are prepared and knowledgeable for a career in Customer Relationship Management. This particular area of business is a prospering industry all across the country. Graduates are able set themselves apart from other graduates during their potential job search with this certificate.

    Valley City State University is a public university located in Valley City, North Dakota. VCSU is situated on a 55 acre campus, and the entire campus is listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places. The university is one of eleven institutions in the North Dakota University System. Valley City State University was established in 1890 as a normal school, which is also known as a teachers college, and for over one hundred years has provided students with an engaging social and academic learning environment. Staying true to its heritage, Valley City University has developed a stellar reputation for educating some of the top teachers in the area.

    VCSU offers bachelor's and master's degrees. The academic departments and divisions at VCSU consist of Communication Arts and Social Science, Business and Information Technology, School of Education and Graduate Studies, Math, Science and Health & Physical Education and Fine Arts. VCSU offers an opportunity for distance learning for students that want to earn a degree from VCSU, but don’t have a schedule that allows them to do so. The online classes are delivered through the internet, which makes students able to participate from any location that has internet access. Students have the choice of either working independently, or together with fellow distance education students.
