Valley City State University offers The Business Process Integration Management (BPIM) major. This newly offered major is designed to attract non-traditional IT majors and business majors interested in technology to meet the needs of employers in the surrounding regions. The BPIM major focuses on building the communication, problem-solving, business, collaboration and technical skills required of employers with a focus on business processes and advanced enterprise systems to ensure students are well-prepared to enter the growing IT and business workforce.
The BPIM major also offers a unique agreement they have with SAP, a leading worldwide provider of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. This agreement allows for the use of this software in the classroom, which gives students of this major the hands on experience they need with one of the most popular business software companies. Thus, adding to the skills they have to offer their future employers.
The major in Business Process Integration Management is beneficial to individuals because this program was a direct result of information gathered through employer focus groups and surveys, advisory board recommendations, internship results, and participation in professional organizations.

Valley City State University is a public university located in Valley City, North Dakota. VCSU is situated on a 55 acre campus, and the entire campus is listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places. The university is one of eleven institutions in the North Dakota University System. Valley City State University was established in 1890 as a normal school, which is also known as a teachers college, and for over one hundred years has provided students with an engaging social and academic learning environment. VCSU offers bachelor's and master's degrees. The academic departments and divisions at VCSU consist of Communication Arts and Social Science, Business and Information Technology, School of Education and Graduate Studies, Math, Science and Health & Physical Education and Fine Arts. VCSU offers an opportunity for distance learning for students that want to earn a degree from VCSU, but don’t have a schedule that allows them to do so. The online classes are delivered through the internet, which makes students able to participate from any location that has internet access. Students have the choice of either working independently, or together with fellow distance education students.
