Program Details

The online BS in Education / English Education degree program from Valley City State University involves the completion of three components- the General Education Core of courses, a Professional Education Sequence for Secondary Education majors, and a mix of required and elective courses in the Major that prepare students for both the certification exams required for teacher licensure, as well as for the demands of their future classrooms. Upon graduation, students:

  • Possess strong academic and creative writing skills
  • Exhibit vital critical reading and thinking skills
  • Routinely apply competent research skills
  • Understand the value of cultural fluency

Requirements

  • Official high school transcript or proof of successful completion of the General Education Development Test (GED)
  • Official results of the American College Test (ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) test scores (unless the applicant is 25 years or older); the ACT writing test is not required
  • Official college transcripts, if applicable
