Program Details

The online Certificate in Sustainable Management Science program focuses on the scientific aspects of Sustainable Management.  The curriculum covers the topics of ecology, the global environmental system, thermodynamic and kinetic systems, basic engineering and applications for energy technologies, and policies and problems related to the management of natural resources.  Courses that make up the program are:

  • Climate Change and Sustainability
  • Ecology for Sustainable Management
  • Energy for Sustainable Management
  • Natural Resource Management


  • Prerequisite coursework in two courses: Introductory biology and general chemistry. UW campus equivalents or other college/university equivalents may be substituted
  • No official high school or college transcript is required
