Program Details
The University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh offers an online Doctor of Nursing Practice program for students interested in pursuing certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. This degree program builds on master’s-level nursing skills and knowledge to prepare students for the highest level of nursing practice.
Coursework examines areas including informatics, leadership, collaboration, and healthcare policy along with specialized FNP education. Clinical courses provide experience in population-focused management, evidence-based practice, and healthcare policy. Graduates are eligible to sit for the national FNP certification exam.

- On-campus visits are required for orientation and during the final two semesters of the program.
- Applicants must have a master's degree from an accredited university, including graduate-level nursing theory, research, ethics, and advanced-level pharmacology.
- Applicants must have a current, unencumbered RN license allowing practice in Wisconsin.
- Provide evidence of 550 hours of advanced nursing clinical practice in a given specialty and current advanced nursing practice certification.
