Master of Science in Experimental Psychology
University of West Alabama

Program Details

The Master of Science in Experimental Psychology, an online psychology degree from the University of West Alabama, provides enhanced training in psychology-based statistics and research methods.  Students build upon research skills from their undergraduate programs, including critical thinking, search methods, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and research presentation, to gain a firm foundation in the principles of scholarly research.  The program also provides a base in core fields of psychology along with the freedom of choosing elective courses so students may pursue their own interests in the field.   Students may also choose one of two specializations other than the General Option: Clinical Psychology or Health & Sports Psychology.

  • The Clinical Psychology option focuses on developing a clinical perspective along with critical thinking and research skills.  This option can meet many of the requirements associated with applying for a license as a Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • The Health & Sports Psychology option prepares students for clinical applications in health and sports psychology, focusing on the skills needed for these fields.  This option consists of coursework designed for obtaining an applied perspective.
