Program Details

The University of South Florida offers an online hospitality management degree program, the Master of Science in Hospitality Management, for those interested in careers in leadership positions in hotels and restaurants in the hospitality industry.  With this program students learn to use strategic development techniques in various private, public, and institutional sectors of hospitality environments and also develop a variety of strategic and conceptual skills in the industry, including analytical, financial, organizational, and communication skills.  Coursework also teaches students to look for logical ethical approaches to the hospitality industry using such methods as case studies, experiential learning, research projects, and presentations.  The curriculum focuses on strategic decision-making in the development of hospitality models within the areas of:

  • Organizational effectiveness
  • Finance
  • Marketing
  • Technology of hospitality ventures
  • Internet usage to improve and expand customer service

Students completing this degree online use “zoom” technology which allows them to “attend” classes at the same time and day, and with the same faculty, as on-campus students.
