Program Details

University of Northern Iowa offers an Advanced Standing Master of Social Work degree to the working adult student.  This program, focused on Trauma-Informed Practice is designed for those with a CSWE-accredited undergraduate degree.  Studies may include but are not limited to:

  • Community collaboration
  • Primary trauma
  • Grant writing

Students enter a cohort model which they work with throughout the program.  Courses are flexibly offered online and include formats such as interactive video conferencing.  Studies guide students through an integrative approach to clinical treatment from various perspectives in cognitive and somatic therapies.  Graduates with this degree may find pursuable or enhanced career paths in mental health facilities, government agencies, healthcare, and more.
