Program Details

The University of New England is an innovative and established leader in the online learning community. All of our online courses offer a multi-dimensional distance learning experience using a student-centered approach, specifically designed to accommodate different learning styles and the schedules of working professionals.

UNE Online’s 30-credit Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Advanced Educational Leadership (CAGS AEL) can be completed in just under two years, and requires no GRE or campus visits. The CAGS AEL is an online educational leadership certificate that provides a thorough foundation in educational leadership theory, principles, and practices. The program focuses on developing the knowledge and skills needed by school administrators and other educators who wish to assume significant leadership roles in their schools, educational institutions and communities.

In the State of Maine, this CAGS AEL leads to a Principal – Building Administrator Certificate (040), and can lead to certification in other states with coordination from their Department of Education.

Additionally, UNE Online’s Graduate Education Programs are ranked in U.S. News & World Report’s 2016 rankings for Best Online Graduate Education Programs. UNE is one of only 25 private universities appearing in the top 100, and is one of just two Maine institutions included in the ranking.

The University of New England is regionally accredited by the New England Association of schools and colleges (NEASC). Accreditation by the Association indicates that the institution has been carefully evaluated and found to meet standards agreed upon by qualified educators.
