Program Details

The online Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management program prepares students for government positions at all levels of government and for positions in nonprofit and private companies or to continue their educations in graduate programs.  The interdisciplinary curriculum provides an overview of emergency management while a variety of concentration areas sharpen key areas of concern for disaster preparedness, hazard mitigation, response, and recovery.  You will learn to perform risk management, emergency preparedness planning, and mitigation to support operations continuity and community sustainability and gain a thorough understanding of interagency cooperation, partnership coordination, communication, and administrative issues.  Areas of concentration include:

  • Intelligence and Security
  • Logistics Management
  • Natural Disasters
  • Nonprofit Management
  • Planning and Preparing for Urban Hazards
  • Private Sector Management


  • Minimum of 2.5 GPA
  • Official high school transcript and/or official GED equivalency scores
  • SAT or ACT scores (waived for applicants graduating prior to 1997 and transfer students)
