University of Louisiana at Monroe offers an online Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) with Elementary Education & Special Education Mild Moderate, Gr 1-5. Students of this program should already have a bachelor's degree and are looking to pursue teaching certification. Overall, the program teaches on the topics of elementary education and special education combined, for teachers of grades 1-5. With these two subjects combined, students can gain a very specialized understanding of young children with special education needs.
