The University of Holy Cross is a private, four-year, not-for-profit institution. It is located in New Orleans, Louisiana, on a 16-acre campus in a middle-class residential neighborhood. The university was founded in 1916 as a two-year normal school in the Bywater area of New Orleans. It later became a four-year institution in 1938 and in 1960 it moved to its current location. The college’s mission is “to educate the minds and hearts of undergraduate and graduate students through dedicated service and innovative teaching methods by the Catholic Church.”
