Founded in 1952 as a teacher training junior college in Mongmong, the University of Guam is a regional Land-Grant institution. It is dedicated to the search for and dissemination of knowledge, wisdom and truth. Since its beginning, the University of Guam has grown into the largest U.S. accredited institution of higher learning on this side of the international dateline. The University exists “to serve its learners and the communities of Guam, Micronesia and the neighboring regions of the Pacific and Asia by providing the opportunity to acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes, and abilities through the core curriculum, degree programs, research and outreach.”
