Program Details

The University of Florida’s (UF) Master of Science in Civil Engineering  is designed to encompass the broad nature of this field, including the design, construction, and enhancement of society’s infrastructure.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • 3.0 Upper-Division GPA
  • Official transcripts
  • At least one year (two semesters or three quarters) of calculus
  • One semester of physics and one semester of biology; or at least one year (two semesters or three quarters) of physics; or at least one year (two semesters or three quarters) of biology, at least one semester of chemistry
  • Computer competency
  • GRE test scores

UF is partially authorized for residents of Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, and Washington. States pending authorization include: Kansas, Michigan, New York, and Oregon.

Distance education programs in allied health professions, counseling, education, nursing, social work, and veterinary medicine may require additional approval from state licensing agencies or boards. Out-of-state students who are considering applying to a professional program should contact the licensing agency or board in their state prior to enrollment.
