Master of Engineering in Materials Science & Engineering

Program Details

The online Master of Engineering in Materials Science & Engineering program applies the fundamental principles of physics and chemistry to engineering materials, placing a special emphasis on the interrelationship between material structure, their properties, and the means by which they are processed.  Graduates are prepared for job opportunities in a range of fields including aerospace, electronics, transportation, communication, construction, recreation, entertainment, environment, and energy.  Concentrations include:

  • Electronic Materials
  • Metals
  • Polymers
  • Structural Materials

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program or approved equivalent
  • Strong background in engineering or science with at least a B average for all upper-division undergraduate coursework
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale)
  • GRE test scores
  • Official transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Statement of purpose
