The University of Florida’s Master of Engineering in Industrial and Systems Engineering is a customizable program that is offered through an entirely distance learning format. The Master of Engineering in Industrial and Systems Engineering course of study is delivered through the university’s College of Engineering and administered by the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. This program is unique due to the wide array of specializations that students can choose tailored to their personal interests and the professional goals they wish to pursue. The specializations that students can choose include Logistics and Transportation Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Communication Systems Engineering, and Environmental Systems Engineering.
The Master of Engineering in Industrial and Systems Engineering program’s core curriculum is highly dependent upon the specialization that students choose to pursue. However, the length of the curriculum consists of ten courses, or 30 credits, across the board. Each specialization’s curriculum is made up of five specialization related courses, and five core courses that M.S. ISE students take regardless of specialization. The five core courses that students take span the topics of Deterministic Methods in Operations Research, Applied Probability Methods in Engineering, Systems Architecture, Systems Design, and Systems Management. - A bachelor of science degree in an engineering discipline with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Satisfactory scores on the general portion of the Graduate Record Examination(GRE); a minimum score of 600 on the quantitative, 400 on the verbal, and 3.5 on the analytical portion is typically expected
