Program Details

The University of Florida’s Master of Engineering in Industrial and Systems Engineering is a customizable program that is offered through an entirely distance learning format. The Master of Engineering in Industrial and Systems Engineering course of study is delivered through the university’s College of Engineering and administered by the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering.


  • Students are expected to have had undergraduate courses in the following areas:
    • Calculus
    • Probability and/or statistics
    • Matrix methods
    • Computer programming
  • Satisfactory GRE scores (additional scores required for international students, see below)
    • Quantitative: at least 155
    • Verbal: at least 146
    • Analytical: at least 3.0
  • Resume/CV
  • Statement of purpose
  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • Transcripts

Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges


UF is partially authorized for residents of Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, and Washington. States pending authorization include: Kansas, Michigan, New York, and Oregon.

Distance education programs in allied health professions, counseling, education, nursing, social work, and veterinary medicine may require additional approval from state licensing agencies or boards. Out-of-state students who are considering applying to a professional program should contact the licensing agency or board in their state prior to enrollment.
