Program Overview

The University of Florida’s Master of Arts in Mass Communication (MAMC) with a specialization in Web Design and Online Communication is a course of study that is delivered through an entirely online format. This program is administered through the College of Journalism and Communications. This degree program is intended for professionals trained in traditional media professions. Students enrolled in the MAMC program will learn about principles and advanced techniques in Internet design and strategic communication as it applies to news, commerce, and entertainment media.

The MAMC’s core curriculum consists of 37 credits, and students can begin the coursework in any semester. The program is led by faculty members with extensive experience in the web design industry, as well as in the areas of academic and theoretical research. Some of the courses students will take through the MAMC course of study span the topics of Web Design Principles, Digital Imagery in Web Design, Corporate and Brand Identity on the Web, and Digital Media Layout and Design. Students will also be required to participate in a capstone project in which they demonstrate the integration and application of all the knowledge gained through their courses. Once the program is successfully completed, graduates may be equipped with an upper-level degree from a prestigious degree and may also possess a decisive edge over the competition.
