The University of Florida’s Master of Arts in Mass Communication, with a specialization in Global Strategic Communications, is a course of study that is delivered by the university’s College of Journalism and Communications. This program is designed with communication and media strategists in mind, and works to illuminate new channels, provide insights into analytics, and craft persuasive, intercultural messages for an increasingly global set of audiences and stakeholders. This program’s primarily distance learning delivery was designed with place-bound professionals in mind that wouldn’t normally have the freedom to pursue a traditional graduate degree on-campus due to family, location, or work commitments.

The M.A. in Global Strategic Communication program’s curriculum is comprised of ten courses plus a capstone project, or 33 credits of coursework. In addition to the convenient distance learning format, students may begin coursework during any semester. This degree can be completed in as little as 18 months. All of the courses are focused on combining the study of communication theory with an exploration of emergent technologies to best teach students how to develop effective communication strategies that deliver results. Some of the courses span topics such as International Advertising, Strategic Communication Ethics and Concepts, Research Methods in Mass Communication, Brand Management, and Global Activism and Social Change Communication. Through this program’s diverse and thorough curriculum, and guided by top-notch faculty members, graduates of this program may be equipped with all of the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in this field.
