This certificate-level course of study is available through the university’s Division of Continuing Education and is designed to equip students with all of the knowledge and skills needed to acquire certification in MSA field. This program’s distance learning delivery was created to accommodate working professionals who wouldn’t typically have the freedom to pursue a traditional graduate degree on-campus due to family, location, or work commitments.
The online material consists of pre-recorded lectures, assigned reading, and a multiple choice exam. The assigned faculty members will respond to participant inquiries about any of the instructional content. Some of the educational modules students will learn about through this course of study cover the topics of Medicare Secondary Compliance, Acronyms, Differences Between Life Care Plans and MSA, Role of the Attorney in the MSA Process, and Rising Financial Solutions. The main objectives of these modules is for the student to be able to identify the theoretical and applied foundations for the MSA, understand when an MSA is appropriate, understand the process required to submit an acceptable MSA, and many more.
Through this course of study, students may have a dynamic, interactive learning experience. Participants may gain a thorough overview of the MSA process and a familiarization with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services website, as well as the frequently used acronyms and definitions of terms used in this field. Through the program, students may practice an MSA arrangement by working with a provided case example complete with medical records and step-by-step instructions. Upon completion of the 30-credit program, which is completely self-paced, students should receive a certificate of completion that may be used when applying for certification from the Commission on Health Care Certification.
