The university offers this certificate through the College of Pharmacy and under the Department of Medicinal Chemistry. This certificate program is targeted at students who are working in, or are interested in working in, the areas of law enforcement agencies, military services, and medical personnel. The core curriculum of this program consists of five classes, or 15 semester hours. The five classes students will take through this course of study span topics such as Biological Evidence & Serology, Blood Distribution & Splatter, Forensic Analysis of DNA, Laboratory QA/QC, and Mammalian Molecular Biology. Upon completion of the program, students should receive a University of Florida Certificate in Forensic DNA and Serology, which may equip students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in this field.
