Certificate in Emergency Services/Disaster Management
The University of Florida offers a Graduate level Certificate Program in Emergency Services & Disaster Management that is delivered through an entirely online format. This program is offered through the university’s College of Design, Construction, & Planning and under the M.E. Rinker Sr. School of Building Construction. This Graduate Certificate is designed for working professionals who are seeking to expand their knowledge in emergency planning, hazard mitigation and preparedness, and disaster response and recovery, and homeland security. Through this program, participants may be able to further their education and enrich their careers without sacrificing their work and family life.
The goal of this program is to create a broad educational experience that includes study of current cases in Emergency Services and Disaster Management. The program also strives to emphasize both the critical thinking and leadership skills necessary to advance in this field of work. This program is targeting individuals who work within this field, or those who want to seek employment within this field and have already achieved a degree at the Bachelor’s level. The program’s core curriculum consists of four courses, or 12 semester hours. Once students have successfully completed all of the coursework of the Certificate Program in Emergency Services and Disaster Management, they may be competitive candidates for top-level positions in this competitive field.
