Program Details
The online Graduate Certificate in Clinical Toxicology is designed to give health science professionals a background in the medical and toxicological principles of toxicants commonly encountered in poison control centers and emergency departments. Courses teach the general signs and symptoms of toxicants, how toxicants enter the body, how patients are diagnosed and treated, general principles of epidemiology and how it relates to biostatistics, how toxicology relates to specific organ and tissue systems, common prescription drug classes and their toxic effects, and information on physiological, pharmacological, and toxic effects of chemical toxins and carcinogens.
