Program Details

The online Graduate Certificate in School Law program is designed for superintendents, principals, staff administrators, teachers, and anyone else involved in the daily operations of public school, helping them understand the state and federal laws that impact K-12 education.  The curriculum cuts through the legalese to help educators and administrators understand and effectively handle many of the legal challenges that commonly occur in the public-school systems.  Graduates are able to:

  • Resolve school conflicts
  • Identify ways their school is out of legal compliance
  • Take steps to bring their school into legal compliance
  • Make educational decisions that are legally and educationally sound


  • Baccalaureate degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Personal statement
  • Three letters of reference
  • Current resume or CV
  • Official transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate coursework
  • Successful candidates normally meet the recommended 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
