Program Overview

University of Central Missouri offers a Master of Science in Kinesiology Sport Management that is designed for individuals who wish to enhance their knowledge of sports management to advance their careers in this field. Participants who apply to this program must already have a bachelor’s degree and wish to pursue a higher education. Through this program, individuals will manage marketing, finance, leadership organization, facilities, events, law, promotions, and various other aspects included in sport organizations. Graduates may possibly work in areas of facility and event management, accounting, licensed sporting goods sales, media relations, and marketing and promotions. Upon completion, participants may find employment at the high school, collegiate, professional, or community level. Individuals who choose to work in this field enjoy an exciting and rewarding experience.

The MS in Kinesiology Sport Management program consists of 33 total credit hours. Students are required to complete required courses, elective courses, and research courses, in order to earn this degree. Course topics that will be explored include sports marketing, organizational leadership, management, sponsorship, sales, and more. Courses offered are expertly crafted to ensure that graduates will be knowledgeable, competent, and professional while working in the exciting career field of sports management.

The courses are all offered online. This program provides flexibility for students who hold roles other than being a student. The university recognizes the importance of maintaining family relationships, employment, and other obligations while gaining an education.

    Requirements

    A minimum undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 or a grade point average of 3.0 on 9 semester hours of earned graduate credit is required.
