MS in Industrial Management
University of Central Missouri offers a Master of Science in Industrial Management that is suited for students who wish to enhance their skills in management that may be used in industry. Students who apply to this program must already have an undergraduate degree and want to pursue the next step in furthering their education. Participants who apply to this program are typically interested in advancing their current careers in industry or want to graduate with the experience they need to find employment. Upon graduation, students often display exceptional management, leadership, problem solving, and decision making skills. Graduates who earn this degree may be employed in management or supervisory positions in industry and business. Positions that graduates may hold include vice president of operations, production managers, shift supervisors, quality systems managers, and plant managers. Upon completion, students may pursue a Ph.D. in Technology Management if they choose to do so.
The Master of Science in Industrial Management Program consists of 33 total credit hours that may be completed in two years. Students are required to finish Industrial Management Core courses, elective coursework, and thesis or seminar work in order to successfully complete the program. Topics the curriculum explores include industrial management, organizational dynamics, operations management, quality systems engineering, and more. In addition to required courses, students will complete a seminar in Industrial Management or a thesis option. Through thesis work and seminars, students will be able to perform, interpret, and explain research that is valuable to this field. Required courses and thesis work offered are expertly crafted to ensure that graduates will be knowledgeable, competent, and well rounded while working within management positions within business or industry.
In order to accommodate for different preferences of students, classes are available in a completely online format. This allows students to have a flexible experience while working towards their degree. Enrolled students will be able to fulfill other roles besides being a student. Students may enjoy the convenience of not commuting to campus and completing all of the work from home. Participants may also complete the program while maintaining employment and family commitments.
